Sacramento sheriff's deputy seen on video pushing woman out of jail placed on leave

SACRAMENTO — A Sacramento County sheriff's deputy was placed on administrative leave after he was seen on camera shoving a woman to the ground outside the jail.

This happened back in October as the woman was being processed for release. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office released footage of what happened from a camera outside the jail and from the deputy's body camera.

The sheriff's office shared few details but said the incident is now being investigated internally and by the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.

We reached out to the sheriff's office to ask what charges that woman was facing but haven't heard back.

In an unrelated incident, another Sacramento sheriff's deputy was also placed on administrative leave this week after being arrested in Citrus Heights.

That deputy has not been formally charged with any crimes but was initially accused of resisting arrest, loitering on someone's property with intent to commit a crime, and driving under the influence.
