Roseville Teen Says She Was Grabbed Outside School Gym

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Roseville Police are investigating reports that a stranger grabbed a teenage girl outside a middle school gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

The 14-year-old girl was attending a club volleyball practice at Eich Intermediate School on Sierra Gardens Drive when she stepped outside around 7:15 p.m. to cool off.

She says a stranger grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her away from the gym.  She was able to break free and ran back inside the gym to tell her coaches what happened.  She was scared but unhurt.

The suspect is described as a "chubby" Hispanic male in his 30s, approximately 6'0" tall, with a dirty appearance.  He had short dark hair, little to no facial hair, and was wearing dark clothing, including a long-sleeved shirt.   He ran toward the greenbelt south of the school.

Roseville Police officers were called and searched the area, but were not able to locate the suspect.

Anyone with any information about the suspect or this incident is asked to call Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916)783-STOP.  Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
