Roseville Rape Suspect Arrested In NYC
NEW YORK (CBS13) -- A rape suspect who fled California during his trial almost two weeks ago has been arrested in New York City, according to the Rocklin Police Department.
Authorities said 32-year-old Patrick Gregory Baccari failed to show up in court on October 17 to face accusations of rape, burglary and assault, instead fleeing Placer County and traveling to Philadelphia and New York City.
Baccari's absence didn't stop the trial from moving forward, and he was convicted on four felony charges on October 19.
The FBI determined Baccari fled the state to avoid prosecution and issued a warrant for his arrest, tracking him down and arresting him Friday in New York City.
Baccari is scheduled to be extradited to California for sentencing on November 4. He will also face additional charges for failing to appear in court.
