Residents Call Flier Distributed By Public Housing Agency Offensive

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A flier from the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency has residents in one neighborhood outraged.

It depicts an African-American woman in a low-cut blouse wondering why she can't find a job.

Residents railed against the flier at a council meeting on Tuesday.

Councilwoman Angelique Ashby called the flier incredibly offensive.

"Not only is it repressive, but it's offensive from a gender perspective as well," Ashby said, according to the Sacramento Bee.

The agency's executive director has publicly apologized and says they're taking steps to make sure future fliers are more appropriate.
