POLICE: Man Posed As Officer, Assaulted Stranded Woman In Modesto
MODESTO (CBS13) - Police are searching for a man accused of posing as a police officer and sexually assaulting a woman in Modesto.
According to a statement from the Modesto Police Department, in the early morning hours of November 26, 2015, a woman was driving on 14th Street when her car started having mechanical troubles and she had to pull over. A man in plain clothes walked up, told her he was a police officer and threatened her for parking in a no parking zone.
The man got into the passenger seat of her car and, after several minutes, the woman got into the car and the two drove to a nearby parking lot. There, the man grabbed her breast, started pulling down his pants and grabbed for the keys.
The woman drove out of the parking lot and stopped in front of a group of people. Seeing the group, the man got out of the car and ran away.
The man is described as a Caucasian or Hispanic male, in his 20s or 30s, 5'11", 240 pounds and short facial hair, with some acne scarring. He was wearing a dark color hoodie, a baseball cap, and sweatpants.
