Police: Man Attempted To Assault 2 Women Near Downtown Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A man is behind bars accused of trying to sexually assault two women near downtown Sacramento.

Police say the man approached both women on 12th and E streets around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. One woman says she was walking to her car from work when the suspect came up and groped her. She then ran back to her office and called police.

The second woman, a resident of the neighborhood, reported she was also groped by the same man.

Sacramento police responded to the scene and used K9s and a helicopter to search for the suspect.

Officers say they found the suspect when he returned to the scene to pick up some belongings he had left behind.

The man's identity has not been released.
