Police Investigating North Highlands Homicide Of 17-Year-Old Male

NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) - Sacramento Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 17-year-old boy dead.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. Saturday, sheriff's deputies responded to calls of shots fired near the 4000 block of David Drive in North Highlands.

Deputies found the victim lying unresponsive at the intersection of David Drive and Gay Way.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The motive remains unknown, and detectives have no information regarding any suspects.

The victim's name will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office after family has been notified.

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
