Plea Expected In Case Of Slain Nursing Student
HAYWARD (AP) — The woman charged with murder in the slaying of a San Francisco Bay Area nursing student is due back in court.
Giselle Esteban is expected to enter a plea during a court appearance in Hayward scheduled for Friday morning. A previous plea hearing was delayed after a doctor determined Esteban, who is pregnant, was not well enough to attend court.
Esteban is accused of killing 26-year-old Michelle Lee, who went missing from a Hayward hospital parking lot on May 27 after telling classmates she was taking a quick break. Her remains were found in a remote area near Sunol on Sept. 17.
Authorities have said Esteban was jealous of Le. The two were apparently friends at one point.
