Pinkberry Co-Founder Held On Assault Warrant
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The co-founder of the Pinkberry yogurt chain has been arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.
Police spokesman Bruce Borihanh says 47-year-old Young Lee was arrested by a joint police and FBI fugitive task force Monday afternoon as he arrived at LAX on a flight from South Korea.
He remains jailed Tuesday on $60,000 bail.
Borihan says Lee was wanted in connection with an assault in downtown Los Angeles in June but he doesn't have any details.
A call for comment to the Pinkberry headquarters in Los Angeles Tuesday morning wasn't immediately returned.
Lee co-founded Pinkberry with Shelly Hwang in Los Angeles in 2005. It now has more than 150 franchised stores in the U.S. and overseas.
