Photos Show Where 'Speed Freak Killers' Buried Victims

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Local bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla has shared with CBS13 a rare, up-close look at not only where the "Speed Freak Killers" hid their victims, but where he believes more victims are buried.

Padilla shared pictures from the property in San Andreas where Chevy Wheeler's body was found. The pictures were taken after her remains were removed.

Padilla searched the area but was kicked off the property. Authorities then picked up the search and found Chevy's remains. Padilla says they took soil samples from nearby and used specialized dogs -- both indicated there are more remains are in the area.

Padilla also showed CBS13 pictures from a ravine nearby where Cindy Vanderheiden's remains were found. He says again, samples indicate there are more remains. Padilla says this is information the San Joaquin County sheriff is ignoring.

"We had a historical bone dog search there and it is very positive for there being a body by the tree. Now we have brought this to the attention of Sheriff Moore but he doesn't seem to be interested in it," said Padilla.

Death row inmate Wesley Shermantine says his partner, Loren Herzog, is responsible for more than 70 murders in the 1980s and '90s.

Bodies were also found in a well in Linden but Shermantine says there are more wells containing many more bodies. The San Joaquin County sheriff has not said when search efforts will resume.
