Peahen Shot By Arrow Captured By Owners, Expected To Recover

VACAVILLE - Despite being shot through the body with an arrow, a Vacaville family's pet bird has successfully dodged death.

Last week, the Reed family told CBS13 they were worried their pet peahen – a female peacock -- was suffering after it someone shot it with an arrow.

They were so upset, they paid for a sign to be professionally made and put right outside their home, sending a message to whoever hurt their peahen. They had even offered a $500 reward for its return.

The Reeds finally caught the bird on Friday, and after the arrow was removed, the bird appeared to be fine and is expected to make a full recovery.
