Paige VanZant Passes On Prom Date, But Invites High-School Senior To One Of Her Fights

SAN MATEO (CBS13) — A high-school senior had his dreams of going to prom with a UFC fighter dashed because she'll be hitting another dance floor, but she has a better idea.

Brandon Cadiz, 17, came up with a creative way to ask UFC fighter Paige VanZant to his high-school prom, spending four hours working on a YouTube video asking her to the prom.

VanZant posted her response on Twitter on Tuesday night.

She'll be working on "Dancing With The Stars" when Cadiz's prom is scheduled, but she offered the San Mateo High senior and three of his friends tickets to see her fight.

When we interviewed Brandon on March 9, he said if she couldn't make it to his prom, he'd go with a group of friends instead, taking comfort in knowing he left it all on the mat.
