LOVELOCK, Nev. (AP) — Officials have identified a 73-year-old California driver with life-threatening injuries and his 66-year-old wife, who died after a rollover accident outside of rural Lovelock, Nev.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says Viktor P. Kovalev of Sacramento had been veering to the side of Interstate 80 when he overcorrected and rolled his Honda Civic about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

His wife, Rita N. Kovalev, died at the scene of the crash in Churchill County, about 15 miles west of Lovelock.

The unconscious driver was airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where he remained in critical condition Friday morning.
