Oakland Returns Medical Supplies From Occupy Raid

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Oakland officials have returned medical supplies that were confiscated during last week's raid of an encampment by anti-Wall Street protesters.

City spokeswoman Karen Boyd says the supplies were delivered Monday morning to the Occupy Oakland's medical tent.

Protesters have reestablished their camp near City Hall since police cleared the area in an Oct. 25 clash that left some, including an Iraq war veteran, injured. On Monday, there were about two dozen tents at the site.

The return of the medical supplies came a day after a notice went out threatening a demonstration at Mayor Jean Quan's office if the materials weren't given back. Occupy organizers, however, deny any connection with that notice.

Meanwhile, the organizers are gearing up for a Wednesday night strike that seeks to shut down the Port of Oakland.
