Nobody Knows Who This Missing Lake Tahoe Paddleboarder Is
LAKE TAHOE (CBS13) — A Lake Tahoe paddleboarder who hasn't been seen for two days is sparking an intense police by search, though police aren't sure who he is.
No one has reported the man who checked out a paddle board for a ride on Lake Tahoe missing, and no one has seen him, except for in pictures.
For now, he's Lake Tahoe's mystery man. GoPro video shows him taking a selfie from high atop a Tahoe mountain. There are also photos of with another unidentified man on a Heavenly gondola.
Within an hour of the time he took the photos, a boater found his rented paddleboard, along with his camera and life jacket, floating in the lake.
South Lake Tahoe Police don't know if he had trouble on the water with gusty winds or simply swam to shore.
Video clips show him speaking a foreign language. Other photos in his camera show he's recently visited Italy and the United Arab Emirates.
The man rented his board in cash, and because of a language barrier, did not leave his name. Police are asking resorts to scour surveillance footage to match the man's face with possible guests.
