Natomas Student Missing For More Than A Day

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police and school officials say they are concerned about a 17-year-old student who went missing after class Wednesday and hasn't been seen since.
The Sacramento Police Department said Sergio Jimenez was last seen at the center of campus at NP3 Charter High School on Wednesday afternoon.
Surveillance footage shows him walking away from the school, but there was no sign of unusual behavior.
Principal Tom Rutten said he is "very" worried about Jimenez, calling the senior a good student who has never been absent or even tardy. No other seniors noticed anything unusual Wednesday, Rutten added.
"There was nothing to indicate something bad happening. It was just a normal day," he said.
Sergio's mother died years ago, and he lives with his aunt and cousins, who call Sergio sweet, shy and passive. He heads straight home from school on the bus every day, said Teresa Valdivia.
Valdivia said Jimenez cut through a nearby field after missing the bus one day, and she fears he may have suffered an accident on the way home from school.
Police used a helicopter to search fields near Del Paso Road on Thursday but did not spot the student. There is no evidence to suggest foul play, investigators said, but they don't have any clues on Jimenez's whereabouts.
