League To Recognize Best Players During 'NFL Honors' Awards Special
On Super Bowl Eve, San Francisco's Bill Graham Auditorium will be filled with many of the NFL's best players by reason of recognizing the most impressive players from the 2015 season. This two-hour primetime awards special, called 'NFL Honors,' will air nationally from the auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 9 PM ET/PT on CBS.
According to the NFL, 'NFL Honors' will include the announcement and appearance of the 2016 PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME class. The 15 finalists were announced on Thursday, Jan. 7.
The 'NFL Honors' awards include:
- Most Valuable Player presented by Verizon
- Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year presented by Nationwide
- AP Coach of the Year presented by Lenovo
- AP Comeback Player of the Year
- AP Offensive Player of the Year presented by Microsoft
- AP Defensive Player of the Year
- Offensive Rookie of the Year
- AP Defensive Rookie of the Year
- Bridgestone Performance Play of the Year
- FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Year
- NFL.com Fantasy Player of the Year presented by SAP
- Courtyard's Greatness on the Road Award
- Salute To Service Award presented by USAA
- Rooney Sportsmanship Award presented by McDonald's
- Deacon Jones Sack Leader
- Clutch Performer of the Year presented by Castrol
Among the awards announced is the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide, which recognizes a player's excellence as well as his community service contributions.
Seven of these awards will be presented by the Associated Press, which has a media panel of 50 reporters who vote at the end of the regular NFL season.
