Motorcyclist Injured In Crash With Vehicle In Midtown

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle on Tuesday morning.

Around 6:45 a.m., the rider was headed southbound on 19th Street and a vehicle was going westbound on P Street when the two collided. The crash caused the motorcycle and its rider to become lodged beneath a nearby vehicle.

Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and transported the rider to the hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, according to a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson.

Police closed the road where the crash occurred for their investigation and have asked drivers to avoid the area.

It's unknown if speed was a factor.

The driver involved in the crash is cooperating with the police investigation.
