Man's Body Pulled From Submerged Vehicle In Bay Area
ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — An official says fire rescue swimmers pulled a drowning man out of a submerged car in the Oakland Estuary but that the man died on the way to a hospital.
Alameda Fire Department Capt. James Colburn tells KGO-TV (http://abc7ne.ws/1J0GzRb ) emergency crews were called to the waterfront Saturday on reports of a submerged vehicle.
Colburn says witnesses reported the SUV speeding through a parking lot before it plunged into the water.
The victim was identified only as an adult male and Colburn says his death remains under investigation.
