Man Shot During Weekend Camping Trip In El Dorado County Identified
EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) – A man killed during a weekend camping trip in a remote area of El Dorado County has been identified.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Randall Gene Center of Colfax was shot to death at the Union Valley Reservoir Area on Saturday night.
El Dorado County deputies got a 911 around 8:10 p.m. Saturday from a camper in the Union Valley Reservoir area who reported that an individual had been shot.
Officials said the location of the shooting was in an undeveloped, remote shoreline area with no road access and could be reached only by boat or helicopter.
Deputies responded to the area along with county fire and U.S. Forest Service units and found Center.
Center's Facebook page indicates he is a watercraft operator with the U.S. Army Reserves.
No arrest have been made in his murder. No other additional information was released.
