Man Shot At Citrus Heights Bus Stop

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – Citrus Heights police and Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting at a Citrus Heights bus stop.

Officers say a man was shot during what appears to be an attempted robbery near the intersection of Auburn Boulevard and Devecchi Avenue.

The victim was standing at the bus stop when he was approached by a man with a gun.

The suspect demanded money and personal items from the victim.

Police say when the victim hesitated, the suspect fire a single shot into the air and then fired a shot at the victim.

The bullet hit the victim in the hip.  He is expected to survive.

The suspect is still on the loose.
