EDITOR'S NOTE: This story has been corrected to state the defended pleaded no contest.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The man accused of stealing the McKinley Park rose garden trellis has pleaded no contest.

The trellis went missing in late April.

An anonymous tip from someone who attended a backyard wedding in Natomas helped authorities locate the stolen trellis. Richard Hengeveld, 53, was soon arrested in connection the theft.

A Facebook page believed to belong to Hengeveld contained a post asking for help to move the stolen trellis to Natomas, where the wedding would take place.

Monday, Hengeveld pleaded guilty to a charge of grand theft, according to Sacramento Superior Court. He faces a year in jail, and he will be on mandatory supervision for a year and will have to take classes.
