Man Donates Year Of Free Burritos To Local Charity

TRACY (CBS13) - The opening of a new burrito restaurant in Tracy drew a large crowd Thursday, including one man who's using the opportunity to help out in the community.

Freebirds World Burrito was offering free burritos for a year to the first 25 people in line. The winners are entitled to one free burrito each week.

The man at the head of the line, Brian Pekari, had been waiting since Monday afternoon for the coveted prize, and decided he'd do something good with it.

"What we decided to do was pay it forward and give the year's worth of burritos to a non-profit here in town: the McHenry house. They try to help families facing challenging times get back on their feet," said Pekari.

The company says it has a commitment to support the community, and plans to help out McHenry House and Boys and Girls Club of Tracy.
