Kings' Fredette Makes Sports Columnist Pay Up

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A national sportswriter had to eat his word and hand over a big check to charity thanks to the Sacramento Kings' Jimmer Fredette.

In March ESPN.com columnist and TV personality Rick Reilly said Jimmer wouldn't make it in the NBA. In his column he wrote, "In five years he's got a really good chance to be your Provo area Isuzu dealer."

Reilly promised if the Kings' rookie first-round pick even started a game, he'd donate $5,000 to Jimmer's favorite charity.

Apparently preseason games count in the wager. Jimmer started his first game with the Kings Saturday in a preseason matchup against the Golden State Warriors. He dropped 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

And according to his column on ESPN.com, Reilly handed over a check to Jimmer on Tuesday for the '"Fredette Family Foundation."
