House Fire Breaks Out In Arden-Arcade

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A woman suffered minor injuries in a house fire that started in a carport Christmas Eve.

Firefighters responded to a home near the intersection of Edison Avenue and Country Club Lane shortly after 6:30 p.m. after neighbors reported a fire and the sound of explosions inside a home.

The fire apparently started in the kitchen, and quickly engulfed the residence's garage while damaging part of the home's exterior before firefighters brought it under control.

A woman suffered from minor burns to her hands during the incident. Two dogs that were feared dead were found alive inside the home after firefighters extinguished the flames.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
