Historic Truckee Home Damaged By Fire

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A historic house in Truckee's downtown area was damaged by fire early Thursday morning.

The Truckee Fire Department was called to the Kruger CB White House at around 3:40 a.m. on reports of a fire. When crews arrived, they found the house well involved with flames visible on the exterior, according to Truckee police captain Harwood Mitchell.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, but not before it caused extensive damage to rear exterior of the building. A large portion of the home was saved.

Investigators have not commented on the cause of the fire, or if it was set intentionally.

Built in 1873, the home is listed on the National Historic Register and currently houses the JStones Whitehouse Restaurant.
