Grass Valley Man Dies After Police Use Taser On Him
GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) – Officers used a stun gun on a combative Grass Valley man on Sunday and the man then died on the way to the hospital, police said.
The Grass Valley Police responded to a disturbance at about 3:50 p.m. in the 600 block of Freeman Lane involving a male subject reportedly yelling at people from the middle of the street.
Officers responding found Bruce Wayne Chrestensen, 52, partially clothed standing in the street and yelling. He then reportedly struck a driver through an open window.
When Chrestensen ignored police commands, he was hit with a Taser. He was then transported by ambulance from the scene for medical evaluation and treatment after becoming non-responsive and later died at the hospital.
The Nevada County District Attorney's Office is investigating the incident.
