SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Gov. Jerry Brown has announced more appointments to his inner circle.
The Democratic governor on Monday named two aides who worked under former Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata. Gareth Elliott, who served as Perata's deputy chief of staff, will become Brown's legislative affairs secretary.
Brown named Nettie Sabelhaus as special adviser on appointments. She previously was appointments director for the Senate Rules Committee.
Mona Pasquil, who was John Kerry's deputy political director during his 2004 presidential bid, has been named appointments secretary. Each of the three will be paid $147,900 a year.
Brown also named Sue Johnsrud as director of operations, which puts her in charge of personnel and accounting. Johnsrud had served as chief administrative officer while Brown was state attorney general. She will be paid $132,552 a year.
