From 2-6 To Champs: Del Oro Hands Camarillo First Loss For State Title
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Camrion Davis ran for 24 times for 197 yards and two touchdowns and Del Oro took down undefeated Camarillo 16-13 to win the Division II AA title in the 2015 CIF State Football Championship Bowl Game on Friday night.
Matt Hurst caught five passes for 75 yards for the Golden Eagles (10-6) and John Spencer had seven tackles and one sack in the game played at Sacramento State.
Quarterback Jake Constantine completed 25 of 40 passes for 320 yards, one touchdown, and one interception for the Scorpions (15-1). Receiver Frankie Tostado caught nine passes for 113 yards and one touchdown for Camarillo.
Del Oro lead 10-0 at the half on a 7-yard touchdown run by Davis and a 38-yard field goal by Bryan Willhide. The Golden Eagles controlled the ball for nearly 15 minutes in the first half.
Constantine found Tostado for an 18-yard TD with 3:07 left in the third quarter to give Camarillo its first points. Kicker Dante Dellalibera missed the point-after attempt.
Davis broke loose for a 58-yard run to the end zone to make the score 16-6 early in the fourth quarter.
With 1:53 left to play, Constantine threw a 4-yard TD strike to Thomas Janke, but Del Oro used the running of Davis to run out the clock.
