Firefighters Face Exploding Ammo In Auburn Fire
AUBURN (CBS13) – Firefighters faced several obstacles while battling an Auburn house fire overnight. including exploding ammunition and no nearby fire hydrants.
The fire broke out around 10:30 Monday night at a home on Valley Quail Lane.
Firefighters were first delayed getting to the blaze because they had just been called out a few minutes before for another fire.
Once crews arrived, there were no fire hydrants near the burning home.
Firefighters also had to deal with exploding ammunition that had been stored throughout the home.
The family of three who lived in the home was able to escape unharmed. Red Cross is helping the family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
