WESTLEY (CBS13) – Fire fighters in Stanislaus County say it looks like an overnight fire at a travel center started in an attic and quickly exploded to engulf the entire complex.

The fire at Joe's Travel Plaza on Interstate 5 in Westley started just after midnight. 

Fire crews from all over the county came to battle the blaze and found flames shooting several feet into the night sky.

One witness tells CBS13 that he could see the flames from his porch six miles away.

The roof of the plaza has collapsed and early estimates say the fire caused millions of dollars in damage.

The plaza is home to several businesses including a gas station, a convenience store and a motel.
