Fair Oaks Home Fire Spotted By Newspaper Delivery Person

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) – A fire that had been smoldering inside a Fair Oaks home for more than a day erupted in flames this morning causing nearly half-a-million dollars in damage, according to Sac Metro Fire Fighters.

The fire was spotted just after 5:00 this morning by newspaper delivery person at a home in the 4500 block of Oxbow Creek Place which is near Winding Way and Kenneth.

When fire fighters arrived, they found 'significant' fire in the front room of the two-story home.  The homeowners were away and fire fighters believe the fire had been smoldering undetected inside the home for more than a day.  They also could not rule out the family's Christmas tree as the cause.

Damage to the home is estimated at $400,000.  No one was injured.
