2:08 p.m. UPDATE: The district attorney will not be pressing charges against Rodney Green, the man accused of kidnapping a teenager.

Green will be released from custody.

ELK GROVE (CBS13) – An Elk Grove man is behind bars accused of kidnapping a teenage girl.

Elk Grove police were called to 4600 block of Story Way Monday evening to do a welfare check on the girl. They say 28-year-old Rodney Green told officers he hadn't seen the girl in months.

Police checked the home and found her in a bedroom closet.

Detectives believe Green kidnapped the girl as she was walking down a street in Woodland a few days ago and brought her to Elk Grove, where he forced her in the closet.

Green is being held on $500,000 bail at Sacramento County Jail. He's facing felony kidnapping and false imprisonment charges.
