Thieves steal all 5 cash registers from Downtown Sacramento mexican restaurant
SACRAMENTO — The search is on for the burglars who broke into Cilantro's Mexican Restaurant on J Street, stealing all five of their cash registers.
Hugo Cervantes, the owner of the restaurant, provided us with videos of the suspects in action early Tuesday morning.
The business owner says the setback is frustrating, but it won't stop the restaurant from staying open and serving its customers.
"It's a family restaurant, been here for over 20 years, but it's a struggle and it damages us more than people think," Cervantes said. "It
affects us more than people think. We keep on working hard, but it's a little bit frustrating sometimes. But when you see the city trying to do something, it makes you feel at least a little bit better."
The suspects made off with up to $3,000 in cash. Cervantes said police officers found three of the five registers broken and empty three blocks away from the restaurant. The other two remain missing.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects in the video above or saw something that night should call the police.
