Debate Leaves Many Sacramento Republicans Undecided Who Will Be Party's Nominee
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — California Republicans watched Thursday night's debate closely to see which of the 10 candidates on stage could get their vote.
Many of them were pleased with frontrunner Donald Trump's performance.
"He's really stirred up the base," said Barbara Sloan with the Elk Grove tea party. "He's stirred up voters and I think he's saying what we are all frustrated about."
While others say Trump just got in the way.
"I would say he's here to muddy up the waters and make it as difficult as possible for whoever the Republican nominee is to win next November," Carl Burton with River City Republicans said.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker had some mixed reviews.
"Scott Walker is up in the polls but I didn't think he did particularly well in the debate," said Gary Winuk. "I think he struggled to come across with a clear message."
At this point, most in the party are still undecided as a whole on a Republican nominee.
