Deadly Attacks On Homeless In San Diego

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Latest on an arrest in deadly attacks on the homeless in San Diego (all times local):

10:30 a.m.

A man suspected of deadly attacks on the homeless in San Diego has a history of arrests and mental health problems.

Thirty-nine-year-old Jon David Guerrero was arrested Friday after three men died and two were critically injured. Some victims were beaten and others set on fire.

Guerrero remains jailed Saturday.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/29W9xH6 ) that Guerrero has a decade's worth of arrests for burglary, robbery and drug crimes, several court hearings for mental competency and once was sent to a state mental hospital. An attorney told a court that Guerrero hears voices when he's off his medication.

KNSD-TV reports (http://bit.ly/29QRxf3) that Guerrero had been living since January in a subsidized San Diego apartment complex for the poor and homeless.
