Davis High-School Student's Car Stolen Right In Front of Him

DAVIS (CBS13) — A high-school student watched as his car was stolen right in front of him near downtown Davis.

Tal Medovoy was on his way to school when he got into a fender bender.

"I wanted to get out and talk to him," he said. "So I left the keys in the car and we were standing about 15 feet from the car on the sidewalk."

He says the entire crime happened in the blink of an eye.

"My car just pulled out, flipped a really fast u-turn, and then ditched down a side street," he said. "The fact that he would do it when he's 15 feet away from the person who owns the car—all these people see him."

The car was eventually found just a day later by one of his friends, about half a mile away from where it was stolen. Tal's backpack was stolen with a laptop and graphing calculator inside.

No one has been arrested.
