Cooler Temperatures Kick Off Workweek

A warm Sunday is how most of the valley ended the weekend with temperatures hovering in the mid-90s for most of the region.

The start of the work week will bring slightly cooler temperatures as the delta breeze picks up just a bit on Monday and Tuesday. After, temperatures are set to soar to the upper 90s.

High pressure, which is associated with warmer air, will move into the region after Tuesday. It will not only kick up the heat, but bring in some moisture.

Sadly, it will only bring the chance of rain for the southern Sierra at this time. Mountain thunderstorms could start firing over the Sierra as early as Saturday.

The good news is the hotter weather won't last a long time. Forecast models indicate the area of high pressure will move out, giving way too cooler temperatures.
