Citrus Heights Woman Accused Of Setting Fire To Her Home

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) -- Police arrested a Citrus Heights woman on Friday who is accused of setting fire to her own house.

Firefighters were called out to the house on fire at 5513 Cedar Way in Citrus Heights at around 3:30 p.m. Soon after they arrived, firefighters were quickly able to get the fire under control, according to Sacramento Metro Fire Department Capt. Christian Pebbles.

Investigators determined the fire was allegedly started by the homeowner, Amy Gail, who used an incendiary device. Gail was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on charges of arson to an inhabited dwelling. She has been denied bail.

Damage to the home is estimated at $50,0000. No one was injured in the fire.

Fire officials say this isn't the first time they have been called out to the home. Fire broke out at the home two years ago, and was ruled accidental. Investigators now plan to take a closer look at that incident.
