Child's Call To 9-1-1 In Davis Scares Away Would-Be Burglar
DAVIS (CBS13) - A child who was home alone in Davis kept a would-be burglar from getting inside by calling 9-1-1.
The 12-year-old boy was home alone at 8:45 a.m. Monday when a stranger appeared at the front door. When the boy didn't answer the door, the suspect went to the door and tried to break in, according to Lt. Paul Doroshov of the Davis Police Dept.
The boy went to the bathroom and dialed 9-1-1. He stayed on the line while police came to the home with sirens and lights going.
When police arrived, the suspect was long gone, but investigators found signs of a break-in attempt on a window in the back of the home.
Police say the suspect is a male, 30, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
