UPDATE: Woman's Body And Car Recovered From Sacramento River

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A woman who drove her car into the Sacramento River in West Sacramento on Wednesday has been found dead inside of the car.

"All she said was 'my car is going into the river. Come save me, come save me,'" said Nadeem Chaudhary, Mussarat Chaudhary's son.

The woman was driving home on Old River Road from her job at Cache Creek Casino Wednesday morning when she encountered brake problems. According to CHP, she called a family member and spoke to them for 10 minutes about problems she was having with the brakes.

A short time later, the woman called 9-1-1 and said she had driven into the river and could not get out of her car. That's when the line suddenly went dead.

"They were attempting to talk to her regarding how to get out of the vehicle but there was a translation problem," said CHP Spokeswoman Cindy Leal.

Shortly before noon, searchers found the vehicle about 1/2 mile downriver from where it left Old River Road. The car was pulled from the river, and police found the woman's body in the backseat.

Correction: The story said the woman was returning home on Monday morning. It has been corrected to say Wednesday morning.
