UPDATE: Yuba City Walmart Evacuated After Report Of Gas Leak

YUBA CITY (CBS13) — The Walmart in Yuba City has been evacuated Friday afternoon after reports of a natural gas leak.

Yuba City police and fire dispatchers say the store made the decision to evacuate. PG&E workers are on scene and they are reporting that a contractor was working at the store outside using a scissors lift that accidentally broke off a gas level meter. The gas was turned off at 3:40 p.m. Crews are trying to fix the meter.

The store is located at 1150 Harter Parkway on the outskirts of the west side of the city.

The incident was reported at about 3 p.m.
