Boy, 9, Injured After Someone Fired Gun At Home

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a 9-year-old California boy has minor injuries after someone fired a gun at his family's home.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that police say the person fired rounds at the Watsonville family's home early Tuesday morning and the boy was struck in the aftermath.

Watsonville Police Department Sgt. Tony Figueroa says officers are looking for the shooter, who may have sped away in a vehicle after the shooting. Police don't know the person's motive.

Figueroa says no one was injured except the boy, who was shot once. He was air lifted to a Bay Area trauma center.

Sgt. Brian Ridgway says the boy's injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.
