Every year, the City of Sacramento organizes different festivities celebrating Earth Day. At the Cesar Chavez Park, you'll find a fun Earth Day event at the park is filled with educational booths on how to lessen your personal environmental impact and there will be family activities, which are both educational and fun. The celebration will include live musicians and face painting. Last year's Earth Day celebration in Cesar Chavez Park drew over 6,000 people.

On April 19th, the Environmental Council of Sacramento will host its annual Earth Day event. This year's event will be done under the theme "Celebrate. Educate. Motivate." Previous years events featured 150 organizations exhibiting their steps to help improve environmental impact, and offer advice to those who want to reduce their own impact. The exhibitors include a wide cross section of artists, non-profits, cultural, business and government vendors. This year's event will have five musical performers, food, and entertainment for everyone.

The City of West Sacramento will be hosting a free family event that is both informative and fun for its Earth Day celebrations. The festivities take place at City Hall of West Sacramento and will include activities for kids and adults. There will be live music, food, and drinks as well. Important features that will be a part of this Earth Day celebration are the informative workshops showing rain barrels and composting techniques and student projects showcases their vision on the environment and the future.

Sierra College in Rocklin will be hosting a multi-day 'Celebration of Earth' event in honor of Earth Day 2015. The theme of the celebration this year will be "We are all in this together." It will emphasize the need to refocus our needs from finite resources to renewable options. The event will feature great food and music as well. The big feature for 2015 is the campus will be hosting a Wild and Scenic Film Festival, sponsored by the Placer Land Trust on April 21. Admission to the event is $10.00, free for students.

The theme for this year's Whole Earth Festival is "Rooted Living." The free eco-friendly festival always takes place over Mother's Day weekend and has become one of Davis' most well-known events. Many of booths and tents fill the UC Davis Quad, complete with arts and crafts, music, massage tables, food stalls, and even a child care area.
