Aquitania Murder Suspect Faces Victim's Mother In Court
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Monique Delacruz couldn't hold back the flood of emotion.
More than four years after her 7-month-old boy and his father were gunned down during a South Sacramento home invasion, Delacruz witnessed the first suspect to be charged in the crime face court for the first time.
"You anticipate coming face to face with someone who took a very big part of my life," Delacruz told reporters in an emotional interview. "You can't help but cry."
Donald Ortez-Lucero, 27, was arrested Monday in Oakland after investigators said a tip and DNA evidence helped link him to the shooting deaths of Sean Paul Aquitania Sr. and his 7-month-old son, Sean Jr.
Authorities said at least three suspects were robbing a South Sacramento home when Aquitania drove up to visit some friends. Both victims were shot and killed inside the car.
Delacruz said the pain of losing her baby hasn't gone away, especially knowing that Sean Jr. would almost be old enough to enter preschool if he were still alive.
"I know that Sean and my son will now see justice for what was done," she said.
A second suspect, 33-year-old Richard Noguera, was arrested Friday.
The California Correctional Peace Officers Association is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the third suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Brian Meux of the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-8486 or (916) 874-5115.
