Swimming with the dolphins and other animal encounters are always right around the corner at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. From alligators to sharks, dolphins to cougars, butterflies to elephants, and walruses to penguins, discover all kinds of wildlife during a visit to the park. Check out one-of-a-kind wildlife shows, stop by and feed a new friend, or swim with the dolphins. Looking for thrills? Well, you've found them. In fact, you'll find some of the fastest, tallest, wildest, gut-wrenchingest rides in the country-including a few record-breakers at Discovery Park. But don't worry if you're too short or too scared to ride. This Vallejo amusement park has got tons for kids of all ages, including rides just for little ones, and rides for moms and dad to join.

Scandia Fun Center

5070 Hillsdale Blvd.
Sacramento, CA 95842

With its close proximity to the freeway, Scandia is only a few minutes away. Enjoy 2 award-winning mini golf courses, bumper boats, and batting cages. They also have the gas power raceway, a huge arcade, bumper boats, a batting cage and on-site birthday rooms. Their big attraction is the Screamer. It's a long spinning ride that takes you from the ground and back in a matter of seconds. It's quite a thrill, but careful, screaming too loud can cut your ride short -- neighbors get upset about the noise. Scandia offers a bunch of different rates depending on the size of your party and the size of your guests.

1350 17th Ave
(Corner of Land Park Dr. & Sutterville Rd.)
Sacramento, CA 95822
Phone: (916) 456-0115

This park is definitely for the kids. Its roller coaster, carousel, and a log ride – all are on a miniature scale. Kids will get a kick out of the attractions, but you're sure to get a kick out of the charm. Nestled near Land Park and another Sacramento kids' favorite, Fairytale Town, it's like stepping back into the 50s. Admission to free, but rides cost 1 ticket per person ($1.50 Wednesday– Friday & $1.75 weekends and holidays).  Or, you can pick up an unlimited ride wristband good until 5 p.m. the day you buy it. Wristbands are not sold on weekends or holidays.

1893 Taylor Rd.

Think of Golfand/Sunsplash is like Scandia's bigger older brother. It's got the fast cars, mini golf, an arcade and laser tag. But it also boasts a waterslide park. If you like water slides, and don't mind standing in lines, this place is a lot of fun. It has over eight different slides and play places. Unfortunately kids have to be 42 inches to ride almost all of the slides. It also has a salt water wave pool and a lazy river. They also don't allow outside food or drinks.
