UPDATE: Temporary Sacramento Website Up After Weekend Hacking
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A temporary site is up and running after the city of Sacramento's website got hacked over the weekend.
City officials took down the site cityofsacramento.org after someone defaced it.
The temporary site lets customers make online payments and access council agendas and staff reports.
The city didn't lose any data, but officials say they will not relaunch the site until they are confident the web servers are secure.
The city says it could take several days before the regular website is back up and running.
Sacramento officials says its main website and two other websites, for the parks and recreation department and the convention center, were affected.
A city spokesman said other city websites are on other servers, and didn't appear to have been hacked.
