On Wednesday, July 29, 2010, a fire helicopter drops water on the fire at Old West Ranch, about 10 miles southeast of the Mojave Desert town of Tehachapi, Calif. By Friday the 2 1/2-square-mile blaze was 46 percent contained after burning about 30 homes and other structures.
