This year truly has been the Year of the Betty. The former "Golden Girls" star shot to cult icon status after a hilarious stint in a Snickers commercial lead to a "SNL" hosting gig, which lead to...well, everything else. The octogenarian has a new TV show ("Hot in Cleveland"), a new Emmy (for hosting "SNL"), appeared in the comedy "You Again" and has two books coming out.

MTV's "Jersey Shore" cast taught the world about GTL, "T-shirt time," grenades and the etiquette of fist-pumping. And whether you loved their antics or refused to watch, you definitely know who they are.

How could Kanye West top last year's Taylor Swift VMA debacle? By accusing her of not standing up for him after the incident (yes, you read that right), and getting into an awkward on-air argument with Matt Lauer on the "Today" show. He also released a hit album, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," which some critics are calling the best of the year.

Gleeks rejoiced this year as the cast of Fox's hit show hit the road, literally, on a cross-country concert tour, and when star Jane Lynch earned a much-deserved Emmy for playing the cheerleading coach from hell (with a secret heart of gold) Sue Sylvester. Oh, and the show is midway through a strong sophomore season.

You don't need to ask Taylor Swift about her love life - just listen to her music. The 21-year-old's third album, "Speak Now," topped the charts and recounts her relationships with Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and possibly John Mayer. Now that's she's been spotted with Jake Gyllenhaal, are we seeing a preview of what's to come on album No. 4?

From her reality show to her appearances in the tabloids, it's hard to keep up with this Kardashian. Fans followed her high-profile relationship (and split) from Reggie Bush, her family's antics on "Keep Up with the Kardashians" and her promotional endorsements - including a debit card that she and her sisters broke away from after it was revealed to have hefty fees.

The late-night TV saga that ended with Conan O'Brien leaving the "Tonight Show" - and NBC - played out in the news and on the air. After getting ousted by Leno, O'Brien went on tour, rallied "Team Coco" and now has his own show on TBS.

It was a year of highs and lows for Sandra Bullock - a career triumph with her Oscar for "The Blind Side," and personal tragedy when her husband's infidelity came to light and her marriage fell apart in the spotlight. But Hollywood's "Miss Congeniality" bounced back, filing for divorce from Jesse James and adopting a baby boy.

Lady Gaga was everywhere - her videos dominated YouTube, her Monsterball tour is circling the globe and she helped the world coin the term "meat dress" (after her ensemble at the MTV Video Music Awards). For an artist that didn't release a proper album in 2010, she certainly had a big year.
