Clark James Mishler
Every single day for the past three years and eight months, photographer Clark James Mishler has taken a portrait -- and he doesn't plan to stop anytime soon. Mishler has recently collected his strongest photos of fellow Alaskans into a book, "Portrait Alaska," released earlier this year.
Mishler is hopeful that his pictures of Alaska's diverse population will be a lasting representation of the fast-changing rural and urban communities in the state he has called home for 40 years. He plans to continue his portrait a day series until he reaches a full decade of photos.

Mishler named this image as one of his favorites, "I had only a few seconds and made the photograph just before someone kicked me out of the area. I love the fact that the kids and the chickens seem to match each other."
